Film Review: Get Him To The Greek

Russell Brand returns as his out of control rocker character, Aldous Snow from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. The film is based around Jonah Hill's character, who works for a music promotion business, as he tries to make his way up in the company by signing Aldous Snow from the infamous rock band, Infinite Sorrow, for a one time reunion concert at the Greek Theatre in San Fran. That's all you need to know.

I found this movie to be exactly what I expected.... fuckin hilarious. If you liked Forgetting Sarah, you will love this, either equally or more. This film isn't AS romantic as FSM, but keeps you guessing what will happen next. That's the big thing i find with Apatow movies; he always seems to throw in random changes or just weird/funny ideas/happenings. It's a style that keeps comedy fresh. The film is directed by the same guy who did FSM and is produced by Jason Segel, which is also awesome because you know its quality comedy writing. I would strongly suggest you see this film if you are a comedy fan. Jonah Hill is at the top of his game as is Russell Brand. Tons of awesome characters and golden one liners. It's a great spin-off for sure, so check it out and lemme know what ya think...

Oh also, here's the lowdown on what Segel is up to these days..... its pretty relevant if you have seen FSM.

The Real Slim Shade

On June 22nd Eminem will release his follow up album to Relapse entitled Recovery. Much anticipation has surrounded his new album considering Relapse flopped with quality control and billboard charts. His new track Not Afraid has made the charts and featured all over radio stations and TV. But if you were to search for his new track, you best be careful how you do it. There seems to be an imitator floating about the music scene. His name is Slim Shade, and his new EP is called Recovery as well. OH! Also, his title track is also called Not Afraid. Catch the pattern? Yeah, so I tried to figure out, why would someone completely copy Eminem in such an obvious way? Considering Slim Shade released his EP a couple of weeks before Eminem's album drops, im guessing his plan was to catch the people who were looking for advanced copies, or publicity I guess. Whatever works. You can check out Slim Shades EP on iTunes.

New Tracks from Kanye West, Drake, Pigeon Hole and Gil Scott Heron

Here are some new and upcoming tracks as well as a cool remix I have become aware of, so I must share. Ch-Check it out.

Drake
Thank Me Later
Light Up ft Jay Z

Everything has been a disappointment from this guy since he got out of his wheelchair and left Degrassi High. Now don't get me wrong. I loves me some Degrassi and Jimmy was just as perfectly over acted as the rest of them, but as a rapper he makes my face hurt. Drake seems to sound more and more like a baby alien and although Jay Z's verse is nothing impressive, this track is still undeserving. New shit?

Kanye West
Good Ass Job
Power ft Dwelle
New Kanye! A good clue of what the up coming album 'Good ass Job' is going to be like. Not the craziest song or close to his best but it's definitely solid!

Pigeon Hole (Sweatshop Union)
Age like Astronauts
Light Show ft D-Sisive
Two of the many signature voices of Sweatshop Union are releasing a new album 'Age like Astronauts' on June 15th. This will be a solo venture from the Sweatshop collective but fellow member Mos Eisley makes an appearance. They team up with Canada's D-Sisive for the track 'Light Show'.
Check out the new track here

Gil Scot Heron
I'm New Here
New York is Killing Me ft Nas Vs Mos Def
Gil Scot Heron is Legend. Back with a new album, his first in 16 years. 'I'm New Here' is definitely interesting with blues and spoken word tracks from man who has seen it all. The two remixes of the track 'NY is 'Killing me' rival the original and each other, one with Nas and with Mos Def. Check them both out.
